This video explores the collaborative research being carried out around a unique taonga plant and its potential to benefit both people and the environment. It highlights the diverse work underway—from protecting Māori rights and building trusted partnerships to studying the plant's biology, exploring its potential health benefits, and developing sustainable production systems—all while ensuring the taonga is cared for and its future safeguarded. While I produced the video, some of the footage and imagery was supplied by the Māori partners involved in the project, reflecting the collaborative nature of the kaupapa.
