During my time at Plant & Food Research, I worked as a commercial photographer supporting scientists, researchers and communications teams across New Zealand. My role involved capturing photography and video that documented scientific research, highlighted innovation, and helped communicate complex ideas to a wide range of audiences.

Every project required a tailored approach. I photographed laboratory research, field trials, glasshouse environments, corporate portraits, events and marketing campaigns, often working in challenging conditions while ensuring minimal disruption to research activities. Building strong relationships with researchers was an important part of the role, allowing me to understand the purpose of each project and produce imagery that accurately reflected their work.
